Day 389 WI wk 55 Aerobics.....

never ever going to do it again!!! That's the conclusion I've come to after just one session. I was aching by the end of the session and still ache 2 days later. I felt as though I could hardly move when I woke up yesterday. The class had about 22 people in it and nearly everyone was about a size 10 or 12 and in their mid twenties. That put me and my friend off before we even got in there. I knew within 2 minutes of the class starting that it was the wrong form of exercise for me. I wasn't going to let it beat me though and managed to stick with it until the end of the session. I'm going to remain a water baby and do exercise where I don't ache or feel intimidated by all the skinny people. I still went to my water workout class last night and today though as it helped to stretch the muscles out and try to work the aches out of my body.
.
According to my HR Monitor I've managed to burn a total of 1899 calories over the last 5 days. That included 4 water workouts, the induction at the aqua gym, 20 minutes on the tread mill and the aerobics class. I also went to my 90 minute belly dancing class but didn't wear my monitor for that session. So not too bad for 5 days worth of exercise.
.
Because I went to the aerobics class I didn't manage to make WI Wednesday morning. Instead I went this evening and have managed to lose 1.5lbs taking me to a grand total of 72.5lbs. Just 2.5lbs until I get my 75lb certificate. I doubt I'll get it this week with it being a short WW week of just 5 days but I sure do hope I reach it for the week after.
.
As my WI today wasn't until 5.45 I've hardly eaten anything all day other than a ww bar (the new double chocolate bar must really be tried) and 2 cereal bars at a total of 3.5pts. So a Chinese takeaway followed by a WW mint torte dessert was called for. Mushroom chow mein for 4.5pt which always amazes me that it contains so few points. Chinese roast chicken on beansprouts which I pointed at 5 points as it has nearly 2 chicken breasts in it and 2/3rds of an egg fried rice which I pointed at 6.5. I also had 2 chicken balls at 1pt each. Still got half of the chow mein and roast chicken left which I'll probably have for tea tomorrow night. As I've already pointed it that means I can have a nice lunch tomorrow and not worry to much. I'm meeting Tina for lunch at the Weatherspoons and a few diet cokes. We haven't seen each other since booking our holiday and it'll be nice to catch up.
.
I hope you all have a really good weekend.

  1. Brilliant work on the loss - you are doing so well!

Don't blame you about the aerobics, it's so not worth forcing yourself to do something you don't enjoy, but at least you gave it a go :)

  2. Your loss so far is so inspiring! I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose that much.I think I'm going to give aqua aerobics a try after reading your posts. And aerobics is not for me either - I have the co - ordination of a giraffe on ice and totally embarassed myself by being about 2 moves behind everyone else.Never doing aerobics again! xo

  3. What I always love about the aching is, that I feel so thin, because I only feel the muscles and not the wobbles on top of them!

I´m doing my aerobic classes in the leisure centre and there you have all kinds of ages, sizes and fitness levels.

But I´m totally with Linz there, that there´s no point trying to stick to something, what you don´t enjoy.

You´re doing so great already. Go you!

  4. Well done for giving the aerobics a try hunnie. If its not something you enjoy, then there is no point in continuing. Well done on the loss this week. Your doing great hunnie.

  5. The exercise I'm doing already must be working so maybe I don't need to try out something different. I was expecting the class to have people of different ages and sizes but it wasn't. Whenever I go to water aerobics it's always varied and I like that.
GG I started off my exercise routine with a little extra walking then started water aerobics. Tried a couple of different pools and found the classes I really liked. They can all be so varied. Really enjoy them though.
I'm definatly not doing aerobics again, it's hard enough doing an exercise dvd at home.
Tina, loved your company today. Good to have a chat and a giggle ;o) xx

  6. Well done, and I must say your chinese sounds absolutely delicious!

You're right, there's nothing worse than trying to struggle through exercise you don't enjoy - I happen to enjoy jumping about like a lunatic but what you're doing sounds really good fun so probably best to just stick with that.
